Why does your 100W panel only provide 85W of output? Shouldn’t it be marketed as an 85W Panel? 

G100 panel specifications are obtained in a lab setting (a near perfect environment for solar panel energy generation). There are certain factors that may diminish the panel’s performance. Examples include humidity, air pollution, cloud coverage and obstruction from the sun. 

Is a battery included with the solar panel?

No. Please purchase any compatible FLEXSOLAR storage battery. A recommended compatible battery is XXX.

Is it possible to combine a 100W panel with a panel of a different wattage to charge a device?

We recommend that both panels used are of the same wattage for optimal function.

Can the 100W panel be used in all-weather/environment conditions?

No. Please cover the solar panel during rain and avoid exposure to prolonged moisture.

What can I charge with the 100W panel? 

The 100W panel charges everyday items rated 12V or below. Connect and charge a smartphone, tablet, laptops, cooler, car battery, etc. You may need to purchase an additional adapter if the ones included do not work with your device. If you are charging a 24V item, you may require an MMTP (Maximum Power Point Tracking) Controller.

What does a PWM Solar Charge Controller do?

The PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) Controller allows you to simultaneously keep a battery topped up and continue to use your device in an efficient manner. 

My 18V equipment isn’t charging consistently. Why?

Although the maximum power voltage for the G100 is 19.8V, it may not produce this voltage under suboptimal conditions. If you need to charge an 18V item, it is recommended you purchase an MPPT controller. You can connect two panels in a series and the MPPT controller will be able to “step down” higher voltage to your equipment.  

Is the included PVM controller adequate for my needs? What happens if it is not?

A general rule of thumb is that a PVM controller should be adequate as long as the maximum power voltage of the solar panel is 1.5 times the battery that you are charging (for example, 18V for a 12V battery). If this is not the case, a MPPT controller can be used.
